Mangoes
Kesar
Commonly known as Gir Kesar, this cultivar is grown in the foothills of Girnar in the Junagadh and Amreli districts. Kesar mangoes have a luscious, smooth texture and an intensely sweet, aromatic flavour with hints of citrus.
Badami
Also referred to as the Alphonso mango of Karnataka, its texture and taste are similar to the mangoes Alphonso variety from Karnataka. Badami mangoes have minimal fibres and a rich, well-balanced sweetness with floral notes.
Neelam
This variety grows abundantly in many regions of India, particularly in June. Neelam mangoes are popular in Hyderabad and are one of the well-known varieties from southern India, alongside the Raspuri mango. Neelam mangoes have a distinct floral aroma and mildly sweet flavour, and a firm yet juicy texture, making them ideal for long voyages.
Alphonso
Considered one of the finest varieties in terms of sweetness and flavour, Alphonso mangoes are primarily cultivated in the Ratnagiri, Devgarh, Raigad, and Konkan regions of Maharashtra. They are among the most expensive mangoes in India.
Totapuri
Totapuri mangoes are famous in the southern Indian states of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu. They have a firmer, less fibrous texture and a tangy flavour with a pleasantly sweet undertone. Totapuri mangoes are one of the main cultivars grown in India.
